San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (right thumb) did not practice again Thursday for Week 17 against the Houston Texans.
Garoppolo expressed confidence he will be able to play and the 49ers are leaving the door open for that to happen, but back-to-back missed practices suggest that Trey Lance will be starting in Week 17.
