Chargers' Mike Williams (COVID) out again for Week 17
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley told reporters Monday that wideout Mike Williams (health and safety protocols) will not play in their Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos.
Williams landed on the reserve/COVID list for the second time this season ahead of the team's Week 16 game against the Houston Texans, and will unfortunately miss a second game while he progresses through the league's protocols.
Williams' absence was clearly felt in Week 16 as the Chargers fell to the lowly Texans. They'll square off against a division rival in Week 17, though one that may be forced to start Drew Lock at quarterback. Rookie Josh Palmer saw an increased role with Williams sidelined, catching 5 of 6 targets for 43 yards and a score in Week 16.
