49ers' Elijah Mitchell in league concussion protocols
San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell has been placed in the league's concussion protocols.
What It Means:
Mitchell briefly left Sunday's game to be evaluated for a concussion and passed the initial testing, but developed symptoms after the game and has since been placed in the concussion protocols.
Mitchell has been every bit a workhorse running back this season, snatching the job from teammate Trey Sermon in training camp. He has 165 attempts for 759 yards and 5 scores on the season.
