Falcons: Wayne Gallman usage due to blowout, short week
Atlanta Falcons running back Wayne Gallman's usage in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys was because of the blowout and quick turnaround in Week 11, per head coach Arthur Smith.
“We know we have to play Thursday, so that’s why you saw a heavy dose of (backup quarterback Josh) Rosen and Gallman and the other guys,” Smith said. Cordarrelle Patterson also sprained his ankle and is unlikely to play on Thursday night against the New England Patriots, but Smith's comments suggest Mike Davis will be the lead back over Gallman.
numberfire's models currently project Gallman for 12.6 touches and 9.0 FanDuel points versus the Patriots. Davis is projected for 13.6 touches and 9.0 FanDuel points. New England has the No. 12 run defense in our power rankings for the season.
