Buccaneers' Vita Vea (knee) avoids serious injury, uncertain for Week 11
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Vita Vea suffered a bone bruise and mild MCL sprain in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Washington Football Team, head coach Bruce Arians confirmed.
Arians said Vea is uncertain for Week 11 against the New York Giants next Monday night, but that it's very encouraging he didn't suffer a more serious injury. Saquon Barkley (ankle) is expected to return coming out of the Giants' bye and he will get an upgrade in Week 11 if Vea is ruled out.
Among the interior defenders with 100-plus snaps this season, Vea has earned the No. 17 defensive grade from Pro Football Focus. His performance is a primary reason the Buccaneers' rush defense is No. 6 in numberFire's power rankings.
