Ben Roethlisberger (COVID-19) uncertain for Steelers in Week 11

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (COVID-19) is uncertain for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers, per head coach Mike Tomlin.

What It Means:

Roethlisberger was ruled out for Week 10 late Saturday night and Tomlin said after Sunday's tie with the Detroit Lions that the quarterback is experiencing symptoms from the virus. In order to be cleared for Week 11, Roethlisberger will need to test negative for the virus twice, 24 hours apart, and display no COVID symptoms for 48 hours. Mason Rudolph completed 30-of-50 passes for 242 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's tie. Diontae Johnson was targeted a team-high 13 times, but RayRay McCloud was right behind him with 12 targets. Najee Harris was surprisingly only targeted four times.

Among the 35 quarterbacks to throw a pass in Week 10, Rudolph has taken away the sixth-most Passing Net Expected Points (9.93) and he ranks 25th per drop back (negative-0.20). Roethlisberger is averaging 0.06 Passing NEP per drop back for the season, which ranked 29th out of quarterbacks to make a start through Week 9. The Chargers are allowing the sixth-fewest FanDuel points per game to the quarterback position.
