Update: Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa (finger) active in emergency capacity for Week 9
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (fractured finger) is active for Sunday's Week 9 game against the Houston Texans in an emergency role.
News broke earlier this morning about the young quarterback's finger, which x-rays revealed had been fractured in Week 8 and was not healing as expected. While ordinarily the Dolphins would make Tua inactive, the team has no other backup quarterback behind Jacoby Brissett available, meaning Tagovailoa will serve as the team's emergency quarterback.
Tagovailoa played through the injury in Week 8's loss to the Buffalo Bills, but had his worst day as a passer all year, completing 21 of 39 pass attempts for just 205 yards and an interception.
