David Montgomery (knee) may be able to play Monday for Bears
Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery (knee, injured reserve) may be able to play Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, per Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.
The Bears designated Montgomery to return from injured reserve on Thursday and Wiederer reports "the hope" is for him to get "at least some work on Monday night." Khalil Herbert's value would be sapped if Montgomery is cleared for Week 9. Herbert has cleared 70 rushing yards in all four games without Montgomery and drawn multiple targets in each of the last three.
Herbert is averaging 12.3 FanDuel points as the Bears' starting running back and he has a $6,200 salary on FanDuel in Week 9. The Steelers are allowing the seventh-fewest Adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points per play this season.
