Browns' Baker Mayfield (shoulder) believes he could play Week 8
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is expected "to do everything in practice today," per head coach Kevin Stefanski.
What It Means:
Mayfield will log a normal amount of reps with the starters, seemingly putting him on track to return for Sunday's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. There is some re-injury risk, but Mayfield is dealing with an injury in his non-throwing arm. Case Keenum filled in last week for Cleveland, but D'Ernest Johnson carried the offense with 146 yards on 22 carries.
Baker is averaging 0.11 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back this season (22nd out of 40 quarterbacks with at least 25 drop backs) and Keenum is averaging 0.04 (28th). The Steelers are third-best in the NFL Adjusted Net Expected Points allowed per play and 13th in FanDuel points allowed per game to the quarterback position.
