Baker Mayfield (shoulder) Week 8 return 'risky' for Browns
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) attempting to play Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers is "probably too risky," writes Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
What It Means:
Mayfield could have a chance to play this week if the swelling in his shoulder lets up and he passes a strength test, per Cabot, but the risk of re-injury may not be worth it. Case Keenum navigated the Browns to a win over the Denver Broncos last Thursday in place of Mayfield, and it sounds like he may be under center again in Week 8.
Jarvis Landry led the Browns with a 25.0% target share and Beckham was second (18.8%) in Keenum's first start. The Steelers are ranked 12th in Adjusted Passing Net Expected Points per play and 13th in FanDuel points allowed per game to the quarterback position.
