Packers place Davante Adams on COVID-19 list
The Green Bay Packers placed wide receiver Davante Adams on the COVID-19 list.
The Packers play the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night, putting Adams' status in doubt for Week 8. If he has been vaccinated, Adams will be able to play if he can return two negative COVID-19 tests 24 hours apart. Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry previously tested positive, so it's possible that other players on the team are impacted by the league protocols. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are currently the top receivers on the roster, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) is eligible to return from injured reserve this week. Robert Tonyan would also be in line for more work Thursday if Adams is out.
Adams is commanding a 33.8% target share this season and he has drawn 73 targets, tied with D.J. Moore for second-most in the NFL. During a two-game absence for Adams in 2020, MVS led the Packers with a 20.0% target share and Tonyan was second at 18.3%.
