Pittsburgh's JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) done for the season
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a dislocated shoulder injury during Sunday's Week 5 win over the Denver Broncos and is expected to miss 4 months.
Smith-Schuster will undergo surgery later this week and will likely miss the remainder of the 2021 season. The still-just-24 receiver took a massive hit at an awkward angle while handling a carry and was in visible agony on the sidelines during yesterday's game. It's possible his days as a Steeler are over considering the one-year deal he signed to stay with the team this season.
After JuJu exited the contest, Steelers wideout Chase Claypool proceeded to put up his biggest game of the season, catching 5 of 6 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown. Ray-Ray McCloud appeared to be JuJu's direct backup in the slot, but only drew 2 targets, catching 1 for 1 yard in that role despite playing over 50% of the team's snaps. In a more consolidated passing offense, Claypool could become an every-week starter in fantasy.
