Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire (MCL sprain) expected to miss multiple weeks
Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is expected to miss multiple weeks with a sprained MCL injury suffered during Sunday night's Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Edwards-Helaire suffered the injury while being driven into the ground on a carry, twisting awkwardly in the pile. The injury was certainly concerning last night as the second-year back couldn't put any weight on his leg and had to be carried from the field, but it appears for now that he avoided the worst.
The Chiefs were already thin at the running back position, leaving just Jerick McKinnon and Darrel Williams healthy heading into Week 6. If the Chiefs don't make a move for a running back this week, Williams would likely operate as the team's lead back after carrying the ball 5 times for 27 yards and catching 3 of 5 targets for 18 yards in Week 5.
