Pats' James White out indefinitely with hip subluxation injury

New England Patriots running back James White will be out indefinitely with a hip subluxation injury, Ian Rapoport reports.

What It Means:

White landed awkwardly at the end of his lone carry of the Pats' Week 3 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and had to be carted from the field. Further testing has revealed that the veteran has suffered a hip subluxation, and that he will be out indefinitely as he recovers. He's likely headed for the injured reserve.

The 29-year-old back had been highly involved in the Patriots' passing game through the first two weeks of the season, catching all but one of his 13 targets for 94 yards and adding 32 more yards on 9 carries. It's unclear how the Patriots will approach the running back workload in the coming weeks, but Rhamondre Stevenson could make the game-day roster with White sidelined.
