Taylor Heinicke in at quarterback for Washington
The Washington Football Team will start Taylor Heinicke at quarterback as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup in Week 1's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Heinicke will step in after Fitzpatrick took a hard hit from an unblocked Chargers defender.
Heinicke completed 35 of 57 passes for 320 yards for the Carolina Panthers back in 2019, under Football Team head coach Ron Rivera. He'll step in while the team gets a better sense of Fitzpatrick's injury.
