Ravens add Latavius Murray to backfield
The Baltimore Ravens signed running back Latavius Murray, formerly of the New Orleans Saints, to a one-year deal.
The Ravens have now signed Murray, Le'Veon Bell, and Devonta Freeman in the wake of losing J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards to season-ending injuries. Murray, 31, was released by the Saints earlier this week after he was outperformed by 2020 undrafted free agent Tony Jones in the preseason. Ty'Son Williams is expected to be Baltimore's lead back on Monday night versus the Las Vegas Raiders to start the season, but Murray is a more proven commodity.
Murray finished 10th in Rushing Net Expected Points per carry out of 47 running backs with at least 100 carries last season. However, in the preseason, Murray earned the lowest rushing grade (30.7) from Pro Football Focus out of all running backs.
