Ja'Marr Chase continuing to struggle for Cincinnati
Cincinnati Bengals first-round rookie wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase could see reduced playing time in the regular season as he adjusts to the league, writes Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic.
Chase dropped all three of his targets in Friday's preseason game and then on Sunday, in the Bengals' first 11-on-11 action since the exhibition, he dropped two more. The rookie admitted after the game that he's "still adjusting to the timing" of NFL play. Dehner believes that Chase may lose snaps to Auden Tate "in the first week or month of the season" in an effort to "help alleviate pressure on the first-round pick." Bengals head coach Zac Taylor seems to agree, as he noted the team's depth will allow Chase to "acclimate to life in the league."
Chase is currently the WR22 in numberFire's fantasy rankings and our models expect him to lead the Bengals in receiving yards (1,178.0) while finishing a close second in targets (129.3), catches (84.4), and touchdowns (6.24) to Tee Higgins.
