Jags' Travis Etienne making "nice grabs as a pass catcher"
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Travis Etienne has been making "nice grabs as a pass catcher" in training camp this summer.
Etienne, who tallied a whopping 48 receptions in his final year at Clemson, spent his rookie season OTA's training with the wide receivers; the move is clearly already showing dividends, as the first-round running back has been making plays both on the ground and through the air in training camp. While the Jaguars already have second-year back James Robinson and veteran Carlos Hyde on the roster, it would appear that the team is preparing Etienne for an Alvin Kamara-like role in his rookie season.
numberFire's models already project Etienne for the sixth-most targets at the running back position with 85 targets. We project him to total 56.2 receptions, 675.2 receiving yards, and 2.9 receiving scores on top of his rushing stats (151.8 / 681 / 4.3) this season for a finish as the RB25 in 2021.
