Matt Hasselbeck hangs up cleats after 17 seasons
Free agent quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has announced his retirement from the NFL after 17 seasons.
Hasselbeck spent the last three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, backing up Andrew Luck, but with Luck injured for most of 2015, the 40 year-old Hasselbeck was forced into action in eight games in 2015.
Hasselbeck didn't play well, but he didn't play too terribly, all things considered. Among passers with at least 100 attempts, he ranked 33rd in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. He finishes his career with 212 touchdown passes, a Quarterback Rating of 82.4 and 36,638 passing yards, which ranks 22nd all time.
