Free agent defensive end Chris Long will visit the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Long is making the NFC East rounds after visiting the Washington Redskins earlier this week. He'd ostensibly be a much better fit in Dallas, where defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli runs a 4-3 scheme, which is what Long has played in his entire career. With Randy Gregory suspended and Greg Hardy likely done in Dallas, Long could find his way into a starting job with the Cowboys opposite Demarcus Lawrence.
Dallas ended 2015 ranked 20th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Long was a part of a St. Louis Rams' defense which ranked eighth in Adjusted Defensive NEP per play.
