Free agent Charles Johnson staying with Panthers
The Carolina Panthers will re-sign free agent defensive end Charles Johnson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
After flirting with free agency and visiting a few teams, Johnson will be returning to the Panthers. Johnson only played in nine games in 2015 after struggling with injury, but he played well in the playoffs. The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but Johnson will be 30 by the time the Panthers' 2016 training camp starts.
Johnson had nine tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles in the Panthers' three playoff games. Carolina finished the year second in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
