Texans hoping to come to terms with Jonathan Grimes
The Houston Texans want to keep restricted free agent running back Jonathan Grimes, the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports.
Houston could keep Grimes around by offering him a tender, but they likely want to re-sign him to a cheaper, multi-year deal. With Houston eying some big-name backs in free agency, Grimes should be nothing more than a passing-down complement if he returns.
Grimes caught 26 passes and rushed for 282 yards on 56 carries in limited snaps last season. He accrued 3.19 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) and 7.46 Reception NEP.
