Broncos release Owen Daniels, clearing $4 million
The Denver Broncos have released tight end Owen Daniels.
The move saves the Broncos $4 million against the cap. This was a no-brainer. Daniels just wrapped up his age-33 season and has looked close to the end of the line much of the past couple seasons. After winning the Super Bowl, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Daniels hang 'em up and call it a career.
Among tight ends to see at least 40 targets this past season, Daniels ranked 20th in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
