Redskins cut Dashon Goldson, save $8 million
The Washington Redskins released safety Dashon Goldson.
Goldson signed a five-year, $41.25 million deal in 2013 and struggled for the duration of it. Goldson's already shaky play cratered in 2015. Releasing Goldson and freeing up $8 million in cap space is a no-brainer move for the Redskins, who should make upgrading the back end of their secondary a priority. Goldson turns 32 in September. At best, he should find himself in a camp competition wherever he ends up.
