Charles Johnson

Giants to host free agent defensive end Charles Johnson

Free agent defensive end Charles Johnson will visit the New York Giants on Sunday.

What It Means:

It's Johnson's first visit since his release. He would provide a proven pass rusher for a Giants team that is reeling at defensive end with both Robert Ayers and Jason Pierre-Paul headed to free agency. Johnson is also expected to have interest from the New Orleans Saints. Sort of a poor man's Justin Tuck, Johnson is a base left end who can rush from the interior in passing situations.

Johnson was a part of Carolina's -35.60 Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points in 2015, which ranked second in the league. He played only nine games in 2015, totaling 12 tackles and 1.0 sack.
