Cowboys may pursue cornerback Adam Jones
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones, an impending free agent, may be pursued by the Dallas Cowboys as a replacement if they release Brandon Carr, Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson reports.
Carr is a release candidate, made obvious by his $13.8 million cap number. Jones is far more effective and would possibly come cheaper than Carr's currently scheduled $9.1 million salary. However, Jones has indicated he'll go to the highest bidder, and cornerbacks have gotten paid in recent years. Jones is near the top of a thin free agent crop.
Cincinnati ranked 14th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play in 2015. Jones finished the campaign with 62 tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble and 12 passes defended.
