Junior Galette

Bills may be interested in Redskins' Junior Galette

The Buffalo Bills would be interested in Washington Redskins outside linebacker Junior Galette, an impending free agent, if he hits the open market, FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo said.

What It Means:

"The Buffalo Bills have Rob Ryan on their staff, and Rob Ryan has been vouching for Galette as a pass-rusher, as a guy who can — if healthy — create some havoc," Garafolo told 106.7 The Fan. "I do expect the Buffalo Bills to at least nose around Junior Galette come the start of the negotiating period on March 7." The Bills may be interested, but the structure of Galette's previous contract with the Redskins complicates matters. Washington has the right of first refusal on any offer sheet Galette signs, and the Bills are not in the salary cap position to offer a deal the Redskins cannot match. It still remains likely Galette returns to Washington on a one-year deal.

The Bills ranked squarely in the middle of the NFL, at 16th, in our Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play metric last season. Galette posted double-digit sacks during each of 2013 and 2014 seasons in New Orleans.
