Tua Tagovailoa manages Dolphins to win over Patriots

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 20-of-26 passes for 145 yards and an interception, and added 2 rushing touchdowns, in a 22-12, Week 15 win over the New England Patriots.

What It Means:

The Dolphins went with a run-heavy approach after Tagovailoa averaged 306.0 passing yards in the previous two contests, but it was a necessary gameplan with DeVante Parker (hamstring), Mike Gesicki (shoulder), and Jakeem Grant (hamstring) being ruled out before kickoff. Tagovailoa didn't complete any passes longer than 15 yards and the offense dominated on the ground with 250 rushing yards, nearly twice as many as their total in any other game this season. It was the third time in six complete starts that Tagovailoa threw for fewer than 200 yards. The No. 5 overall pick should have a much more active day in Week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Tua scored 19.7 FanDuel points on Sunday and is averaging 21.3 over the last three games. He's also providing a safer floor with 3 rushing touchdowns in the past two contests and is tied for most carries on the team inside the five-yard line over the past two contests. The Raiders are allowing the 10th-most FanDuel points per game to the quarterback position this season (20.5).
