Update: Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott (calf) ruled out for Week 15
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not play Sunday in the team's Week 15 game against San Francisco 49ers.
This comes as a huge surprise, as head coach Mike McCarthy expressed earlier on game day that he expected to have his star running back out there. Now, Elliott will be on the sidelines, leaving Tony Pollard as the next man up for the lion's share of the backfield work. Rico Dowdle will now leap into a change-of-pace role.
The 49ers currently rank 3rd in the NFL in adjusted net expected points allowed per run play.
