Cam Newton will remain Patriots' starter
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton will remain the team's starter, head coach Bill Belichick said on Friday.
Newton completed 9-of-16 passes for 119 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception in the Patriots' 24-3, Week 14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. He added 16 rushing yards but failed to score on multiple goal-line attempts. It was arguably Newton's worst performance of the season and ended with him being benched for Jarrett Stidham in the fourth quarter. The matchup won't get any easier in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.
Cam scored 5.4 FanDuel points on Thursday, his second-lowest total of the season. The Dolphins entered Week 14 with the second-best pass defense in the league, according to numberFire's scheduled-adjusted rankings.
