Falcons' Ito Smith listed with neck injury
Atlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith was limited during Wednesday's practice with a neck injury.
The limited session indicates Smith should be fine for Sunday's Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith out-snapped Todd Gurley 24-22 and equaled him in touches last week while Brian Hill was also involved. Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris indicated Gurley's role would grow in Week 14, likely at the expense of Smith.
numberFire's models project Smith for 8.45 touches versus the Chargers, compared to 14.39 for Gurley. The Chargers rank 21st in FanDuel points allowed per game to the running back position this season. Per numberFire's metrics, Smith (0.07 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry) has been a more efficient rusher than Gurley (-0.01) this season.
