Mitchell Trubisky trending toward another start for Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is trending toward starting again Week 13 versus the Detroit Lions, per head coach Matt Nagy.

What It Means:

"I don't see why not," Nagy replied when asked if Trubisky will start against the Lions. Trubisky completed 26-of-46 passes for 242 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the Bears' Sunday night, Week 12 loss to the Green Bay Packers while filling in for Nick Foles (hip/glute). He also lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown and most of Trubisky's production came in the fourth quarter against a prevent defense after the game had already been decided. Foles will presumably reclaim the starting job whenever he's cleared to play, but the Bears could also turn to Tyler Bray.

Trubisky scored 20.8 FanDuel points in Week 12 and is averaging 18.2 FanDuel points over his four starts. He's actually adding more Passing Net Expected Points per dropback than Foles, but that's more of an indictment against Foles than praise for Trubisky. The Lions are allowing the seventh-most FanDuel points per game to the quarterback position this season, so Trubisky will have an advantageous matchup if he does make another start.
