Buccaneers want Ronald Jones more involved

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones "needs to have 20 touches," head coach Bruce Arians said.

What It Means:

"I don't think there's any doubt," Arians said on getting Jones more involved. "He needs to have 20 touches." Jones out-touched Leonard Fournette 10-6 in the Buccaneers' Week 12 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was out-snapped for a second consecutive week as the offense was playing from behind all game. Jones finished with 9 carries for 66 yards and a 37-yard catch-and-run touchdown. He is averaging over a yard per carry more than Fournette on the year and it sounds like Arians may be ready to commit to Jones as the Buccaneers' feature back down the stretch. Tampa Bay will take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13.

Jones scored 16.8 FanDuel points in Week 12, 10th-most among running backs this week. He's averaging the eighth-most yards per carry (5.1) among 64 running backs with at least 50 carries this season while Fournette is 45th (3.9). Jones has also earned the fifth-best rushing grade from Pro Football Focus this season among all running backs.
