Sam Darnold (shoulder) still out for Jets, Joe Flacco to start again
New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) won't play in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Darnold said he was "feeling better" heading into the Jets' Week 10 bye but he still needs time to heal. Head coach Adam Gase said he can't predict whether Darnold will be back for Week 12 and the quarterback himself said he wants to be 100 percent before returning. Joe Flacco will make his fourth start of the season against the Chargers. Denzel Mims (8) and Breshad Perriman (7) were the only Jets players with more than 2 targets in Flacco's last start.
Darnold is averaging 11.3 FanDuel points per game (QB37) with the second-lowest adjusted completion percentage (70.1) and sixth-lowest average depth of target (7.5 yards) among quarterbacks with at least half of their team's dropbacks this season. Flacco is averaging 13.9 FanDuel points as a starter with an inferior adjusted completion percentage (68.1) but far higher ADOT (10.6).
