Chargers' Justin Jackson (knee) placed on injured reserve

Los Angeles Chargers running back Justin Jackson was placed on injured reserve Saturday, the team announced.

What It Means:

Jackson has been dealing with a nagging knee injury the last few weeks, and things finally came to a head Sunday when he was knocked out of action on the first drive. Now that he's been placed on injured reserve, the young rusher will be forced to miss at least three games. In his stead, the backfield will be led by Joshua Kelley, Troymaine Pope, and Kalen Ballage, who was just brought back up to the active roster from the practice squad. Week 1 starter Austin Ekeler is also set to return from IR at some point in the near future.

In Week 10, the Chargers are going up a Dolphins defense that currently ranks 17th in the NFL in adjusted net expected points allowed per run play.
