Chargers' Austin Ekeler (hamstring) says he's getting closer to return
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (hamstring, injured reserve) tweeted a video of himself running in a straight line Thursday.
“The time draws near,” Ekeler said in the Twitter post. He appeared to be running at full speed in the video and is eligible to return from the injured reserve list at any point. Justin Jackson (knee), Joshua Kelley, Troymaine Pope, and Kalen Ballage have all seen meaningful reps with Ekeler sidelined.
Ekeler averaged 17.3 FanDuel points over the first three games before injuring his hamstring. He drew the fifth-most targets (16) and gained the second-most receiving yards (142) among running backs in that span. Ekeler also had the 12th-most carries (47) and seventh-most rush yards (236) over the first three weeks of the season.
