Titans planning to release Vic Beasley on Wednesday

Tennessee Titans linebacker Vic Beasley will be released by the team on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

Beasley signed a one-year $9.5 million deal with the Titans during the offseason but has failed to make much of an impact this season. The former 8th overall pick in the 2015 draft played 125 snaps for Tennessee's defensive line, across 5 games this season. He will be eligible to be claimed off waivers on Thursday for $1.85 million over the rest of the season. The Titans also released Johnathan Joseph on Tuesday.

The Titans are 5.5-point favorites over the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Their implied team total of 26.0 points is the eighth-highest team total on Sunday's main slate, according to numberFire's DFS Heat Map.
