Mark Ingram (ankle) sitting out for Ravens on Wednesday

Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday.

What It Means:

Ingram is still hobbled after the Ravens' bye week, making him questionable for Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Gus Edwards took over as Baltimore's lead back in Week 7 after Ingram was forced, but he only managed 28 yards on 14 carries. Second-round rookie J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill could be more involved versus the Steelers if Ingram is unavailable. Ingram is averaging 8.83 touches per contest and playing about a third of the offensive snaps. The Steelers are allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game (68.83).

Dobbins (0.19) and Edwards (0.15) are both adding more Rushing Net Expected Points per carry than Ingram (0.09) this season. Per numberFire's advanced team rankings, the Steelers have the best rush defense in the league.
