Patriots bench Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham takes over against 49ers in Week 7
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was benched during the fourth quarter of Week 7's game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Newton was benched with the Patriots down 27 points to start their first drive of the fourth quarter. Newton struggled heavily before the Patriots decided to make a switch, completing just 9 of 15 attempts for 98 yards and 3 interceptions. Stidham will take over and operate a Patriots offense that is dealing with issues that extend far beyond Newton's recent play.
Newton scored 2.82 FanDuel points in Week 7 before being pulled.
