Steelers say Diontae Johnson (back) will practice Wednesday
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson (back) will be on the field when the team returns to practice Wednesday, per head coach Mike Tomlin.
Johnson has previously been held out on Wednesdays, so this should put him firmly on track to play Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans after missing the last game. Johnson racked up 23 targets in the only two healthy games he's played this season, but that came before the emergence of Chase Claypool. Johnson's return will likely lead to fewer snaps for James Washington.
Johnson played over 80.0 percent of the offensive snaps and commanded higher than a 30.0 percent target share in his two healthy games this season. He is adding fewer Reception Net Expected Points per target (0.40) than Claypool (1.51), JuJu Smith-Schuster (0.78), and Washington (0.70).
