Broncos expect Melvin Gordon (illness) back for Week 7
Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said he expects running back Melvin Gordon (illness) back for practices ahead of Week 7.
He went on to say that with both Gordon and Phillip Lindsay finally healthy again, the team will "go back to the plan we had for the opener". Gordon operated as the team's bellcow in the weeks Lindsay missed with his toe injury, and Lindsay handled over 20 touches in Week 6 with Gordon sidelined.
Broncos backs have averaged 22.4 total carries per game so far in 2020 and have amassed 18 total receptions through 5 games, so on paper a divided backfield isn't particularly exciting for fantasy. However, Drew Lock's return could be a boost to the offense in general and could lead to more positive game scripts (like the one they saw in Week 6 against the New England Patriots) going forward.
