Ravens will likely use franchise tag on kicker Justin Tucker
Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, an impending free agent, is expected to receive the franchise tag if a long-term agreement cannot be reached before March 1.
The franchise tag for kickers is expected to cost $4.5 million. Because the price is relatively low as compared to other positions, teams have regularly used the tag to retain top kickers and punters. One of the best kickers in the game, the Ravens will attempt to lock up Tucker with a long-term deal before training camp.
Tucker made 82.5 percent of his field goal attempts this season, but all but one of his misses was from 50-plus. He was also perfect from the new extra point distance, a feat only five kickers managed this year.
