Aaron Jones: Packers "have all the weapons we need here"

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones told reporters this week that he was impressed with how the offense stepped up in Davante Adams' absence.

What It Means:

Jones said "we have all the weapons we need here, just because one guy goes down or two guys go down, it doesn't stop. We have multiple weapons, and when you're a weapon, you know you have to step up when your other weapons are gone." Jones himself has stepped up to start the season, picking up right where he left off in 2019 and helping the Packers get off to a hot start even with their top wide receiver sidelined with a hamstring injury. Jones has 65 carries for 374 yards (5.8 per attempt) and 4 touchdowns on the ground, with 15 receptions on 22 targets (68.2%) for 135 yards (9.0 per reception) and 2 touchdowns through the air. With Adams back in the fold, Jones and the Packers will face a Buccaneers defense in Week 6 ranked 9th against running backs in numberFire's advanced stats. Our models project Jones for 15.5 carries and 3.6 receptions in Week 6.

Jones' Week 6 projection includes 69.6 rushing yards, 28.2 receiving yards, 1.04 touchdowns, and 17.6 FanDuel points. His salary is $8,500 and he is the RB6 in our weekly rankings.
