Schefter: Saints' Michael Thomas ruled out for disciplinary reasons following altercation with teammate
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was ruled out for Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Chargers for disciplinary reasons, not a change in the status of his injured ankle.
According to Schefter, Thomas had an altercation with a teammate at practice this weekend, and the Saints responded by sitting him for Week 5's game against the Chargers on Monday night. It's unknown if Thomas would have been able to play through his high-ankle injury, but now he will not get the chance. Thomas and the Saints have a bye in Week 6, so his next chance to play will come against the Carolina Panthers in Week 7.
With Thomas out, Tre'Quan Smith will remain in an increased role in Week 5. Our models expect him to score 11.2 FanDuel points against the Chargers.
