Buccaneers' Vita Vea likely done for year with broken leg
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Vita Vea suffered a broken leg during Thursday night's Week 5 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said Vea is likely done for the season. The former No. 12 overall pick was on pace for 6.0 sacks and playing the best football of his career. Vea will have missed 14-of-48 games through three seasons if he doesn't return. Rakeem Nunez-Roches and William Gholston may be asked to take on larger roles to make up for Vea's absence.
Vea has Pro Football Focus' second-best grade among interior defensive linemen with at least 100 defensive snaps this season. He's played a huge role in the Bucs earning PFF's top grade out of every defense in the league.
