Pats bench Brian Hoyer in Week 4 loss
The New England Patriots benched Brian Hoyer after an abysmal performance in the team's Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hoyer was miserable in his first start in relief of Cam Newton (COVID-19). He took a brutal sack with no time outs left at the end of the first half, and tried to call a time out at the end of the play, and threw a costly interception before the team replaced him with Jarrett Stidham.
Hoyer is unlikely to make many more appearances in 2020 after tonight's performance. While Stidham's 2-interception stat line left plenty to be desired, he was visibly better than the 10-year veteran.
