Seahawks' Rashaad Penny (ACL) close to returning
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said running back Rashaad Penny (ACL) is close to returning, but that the team won't rush him back.
What It Means:
Penny suffered a torn ACL towards the end of the 2019 season, and was just starting to flash the upside that convinced the Seahawks to draft him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Now 10 months removed from the injury, Penny is nearing a return.
As long as Chris Carson stays healthy, Penny likely won't have much of a workload. In his first 7 games in 2019, Penny averaged just 5.1 carries per game behind Carson. However, Penny did explode for 33 touches, 236 yards and 3 touchdowns in his final two games of the season.
