Jerick McKinnon gains 77 yards, scores in 49ers' win

San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon rushed 14 times for 38 yards and a touchdown, and caught 3 passes (4 targets) for 39 yards in a 36-9, Week 3 win over the New York Giants on Sunday.

What It Means:

McKinnon out-touched Jeff Wilson 17-15 and scored a touchdown for a third straight game, but he suffered a rib injury that limited his availablity in the fourth quarter. It will be something to keep an eye on ahead of the 49ers' Week 4 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Raheem Mostert's (knee) potential return would also limit McKinnon's rushing workload.

McKinnon scored a season-high 15.20 FanDuel points and is now averaging 13.60 per game. He was a more efficient runner (-0.09 Rushing Net Expected Points) than Wilson (-0.27) on a per-play basis. The Eagles rank 15th against the run in numberFire's advanced efficiency models.
