George Kittle (knee) officially ruled out again for 49ers in Week 3
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (knee) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the San Francisco Giants, per head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Shanahan had claimed Kittle would be a game-time decision, but apparently that won't be the case. The 49ers will be without Kittle, Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), Deebo Samuel (foot), Raheem Mostert (knee), or Tevin Coleman (knee). Jordan Reed will likely be Nick Mullens' top target in an advantageous matchup after snagging 7 catches for 50 yards and 2 scores on 8 targets last week.
The Giants rank 19th against the pass, per numberFire's advanced metrics, and have allowed a total of 7.1 FanDuel points to tight ends this season, fourth-fewest in the league.
