Rapoport: Michael Thomas (ankle) probably out again for Saints
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) is "probably not" going to play Week 3 versus the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Thomas will have a much better chance of returning Week 4 versus the Detroit Lions. Tre'Quan Smith benefitted the most from Thomas' absence last game as he finished with 86 yards on 7 targets. Smith, Emmanuel Sanders, Jared Cook, and Alvin Kamara could all see a larger target share if Thomas sits again.
numberFire's models expect Kamara to lead the Saints with 7.4 targets versus the Packers, followed by Sanders (6.1), Cook (6.0), and Smith (5.5). The Packers rank 14th against the pass in our advanced defensive metrics.
